Project Coordinator Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to manage the migration of VMware-based Virtual Machines (VMs) currently running on Nutanix hardware to Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor. Additionally, the role will involve coordinating the transition of database VMs running on VMware on Dell hardware to an alternative hypervisor solution (Oracle KVM, RedHat Openshift, or Platform9), with final selection to be determined. This role requires a combination of technical understanding, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the successful and timely execution of the project. Project Coordinator Responsibilities: Migration Project Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end migration process of VMware VMs from Nutanix hardware to Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor. Coordinate the analysis, planning, testing, and execution of the migration strategy. Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring milestones are met and issues are addressed in a timely manner. Manage resources and timelines to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations within the 12-month contract duration. Database VM Transition: Coordinate with technical teams to evaluate and select the new hypervisor solution (Oracle KVM, RedHat Openshift, or Platform9) for database workloads. Support the migration of database VMs from VMware on Dell hardware to the new hypervisor. Work with database administrators (DBAs) to ensure proper database configuration, data integrity, and performance optimization during migration. Ensure compatibility and smooth functioning of the database applications post-migration. Cross-functional Team Collaboration: Liaise with internal IT teams (network, storage, security) and external vendors to ensure all technical and operational requirements are addressed. Serve as a point of contact between various stakeholders including project managers, systems engineers, and database administrators to ensure alignment on project goals. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and any changes to the migration plan. Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in the migration process and develop mitigation strategies. Work with project team to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the migration of VMs, including compatibility and performance issues. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including migration plans, timelines, resource allocation, and issue resolution logs. Provide regular project status reports to senior management, outlining project progress, upcoming milestones, and any escalated issues. Project Coordinator Qualifications: Experience in managing IT infrastructure projects, preferably with hypervisor migrations (VMware, Nutanix, Oracle KVM, RedHat Openshift, Platform9). Awareness of virtualization technologies, including Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor, VMware, and database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL). Experience with database systems running on VMware and migrating to new hypervisors. Strong project management skills, with experience in coordinating cross-functional teams. Familiarity with enterprise systems, networking, and cloud technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to identify and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle. Strong documentation and reporting skills, with attention to detail. Project Coordinator Preferred Skills: Familiarity with containerized environments (RedHat Openshift, Platform9). Experience with Oracle KVM and related hypervisor technologies. ITIL Certification or other IT service management frameworks is a plus. #RT
