Villarreal & Associates, staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is seeking Paralegals to join their growing team in Houston, Texas. Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, able to prioritize workload, and can multi-task in a fast pace electronic environment. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting attorneys with conducting client discovery meetings, drafting written discovery objections and responses, drafting reports, drafting medical summaries/chronologies, assist with retaining experts and trial assistance. This is a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend some time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.Office Location: 1221 Lamar St., Houston, TX 77010QualificationsPrevious Experience required:Prior paralegal experience, preferably insurance defense or personal injuryBackground in drafting discovery responses, trial preparation, and drafting motions/pleadingsFamiliarity with the Texas Rule of Civil ProceduresExperience reviewing medical records and completing medical summariesKey Skills required:Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectivelyStrong written communication skills, attention to detailTechnology/software experience required:Strong software/technical skillsWorking knowledge of a Case Management systemWorking Knowledge of a Document Storage systemEducation requirements including licensing and certifications:Prior litigation or paralegal experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is required Additional Details:Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately.
