This individual will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with technical teams, and preparing detailed project proposals. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will oversee team performance, budget management, and scheduling while providing regular project updates to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.Key Responsibilities:Project Management:Define, manage, and monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring adherence to timelines, cost constraints, and quality requirements.Provide regular, comprehensive status updates to the project team, stakeholders, and executive leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.Proactively address and manage scope creep, ensuring project boundaries are clearly defined and that change requests are effectively handled.Document lessons learned throughout the project cycle, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the organization.Lead and coordinate project efforts, working collaboratively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.Adhere to company-specific project management methodologies, processes, and best practices.Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, ensuring that client needs are met and expectations exceeded.Support the preparation of detailed project proposals, collaborating with technical and financial stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals.Manage relationships with external suppliers, working with Contracts to develop statements of work, negotiate terms, and ensure supplier performance aligns with project objectives.Provide leadership support to the Project Management Office (PMO) and assist in maintaining company-wide project management methodologies.People Leadership:Lead cross-functional teams, including technical and project staff, to define tasks, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.Mentor, coach, and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Evaluate and enhance team performance, address resource constraints and collaborating with senior management to resolve challenges and optimize team effectiveness.Additional Responsibilities:Demonstrate core company values of Integrity, Respect, and Humility in all actions.Proactive, hands-on approach with a drive to innovate and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Excellent time management and people leadership skills.Willingness to travel up to 30%.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a high-performing project management team, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.Ensure effective communication and coordination within the organization to meet project goals.Qualifications:Education:Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Business.Masters degree or equivalent is preferred.Experience:5-10 years of experience in project management, program management, project engineering, systems engineering, or product development.Proficiency with common project management frameworks, tools, and software.Experience working with government and commercial aerospace clients, with knowledge of launch vehicles and/or payload development.Experience with CubeSats, Small Satellites, or other space-based platforms, covering design, build, test, analysis, launch, and operation.Preferred Experience:Familiarity with biological or chemical processes, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge in this area.Certifications & Licenses:PMP certification required.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification required.Core Skills:Critical and strategic thinking.Strong people leadership abilities.Effective decision-making skills.Adaptability in dynamic environments.Exceptional attention to detail.Strong business acumen.Enthusiastic and positive attitude.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager looking to lead impactful projects in a cutting-edge field.
