Job DescriptionWhile professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Position Title: Help Desk Technician II/AV AssistantLocation: Redstone Arsenal, ALClearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position requires a DoD SecretClearancePosition Overview:The Help Desk Technician II/AV Assistant provides engineering and O&Msupport for VTC and multimedia systems to ensure resources and servicesare operational and available with minimal interruption. Duties and Responsibilities:- Monitor VTC network performance and conduct daily system/equipmentchecks to ensure connectivity and effective operation; - Schedule, coordinate and manage VTC resources, conference rooms,calendars and bridges; and set"up, establish and connect secure andnon"secure VTC calls and bridge connections; Assist local facilitators with conference room with set"up VTC andoperations; and provide training and technical assistance introubleshooting equipment and connections as required. - Provide on"site technical support during DV"hosted (O"6 and above)VTCs. - Install, configure, upgrade and maintain VTC suites, desktop VTCs,and audio/visual systems and equipment. - Monitor and control VTC performance, utilization and capacity toensure optimal system performance, availability, serviceability andrecoverability; and report vulnerabilities or deficiencies togovernment technical representatives. - Evaluate new requirements, conduct site surveys, research andrecommend solutions; and plan, engineer, design and integrateapproved solutions. - Formulate strategies, develop plans and prepare technicaldocumentation for the integration of new VTC technologies intoexisting infrastructure. - Evaluate existing infrastructure, research currenttechnologies/solutions; and provide hardware/software upgrade andreplacement recommendations for end"of"life/end"of-support COTSproducts to government technical representatives. - Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systemavailability and performance. - Assist with tracking and management of COTS licenses, warranties,service level - agreements renewals for VTC and multimedia systems equipment andsoftware. - Support on"demand and ad"hoc multimedia requirements. - Develop and maintain up"to"date VTC and multimedia systems andarchitecture engineering, installation, configuration baseline andaccreditation drawings, diagrams and documentation. Abilities: - Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines - Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner - Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills - Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision - Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather thanreactive by nature - Strong verbal and written communication to effectively expressconcepts, plans, and proposalsEducation and Experience Required:- High school/GED - 2+ years of relevant experience - Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2and an IAT II certifications IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002 - DoD Secret Clearance - Familiar with Cisco Collaboration or Cisco Video or equivalent,Cisco Telepresence, Tandberg, Cisco Video, DISA GVS COVID-19 Vaccinations Requirements - As required by Executive Order 14042 and the Guidance issued by theSafer Federal Workforce Task Force, all employees are required to befully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee'slocation or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.),subject to such exceptions as required by law. If selected, you willbe required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and submitdocumentation of proof of vaccination by December 8, 2021, or ifselected, by your first day of employment if hired after December8, 2021.
