Mobile Museum Tour Counselor

The Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) is seeking a Tour Counselor for its VA250 Mobile Museum Experience. The Mobile Museum will travel throughout Virginia and other states, serving as a traveling advertisement that promotes tourism destinations and events related to VA250 events in Virginia.Interested in this role You can find all the relevant information in the description below.Responsibilities:Set-up of interior/exterior exhibits at deployment venuesAssist with the coordination of delivery and proper placement of the exhibitGuide visitors through the mobile tour's exhibitsProvide information to visitors on VA250 related events, programs, and tourism destinations in VirginiaServe as an effective representative and ambassador of both Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission and VTCAssist with the coordination of on-site volunteersAssure accessibility to disabled individualsReport timely results of events within one week after event close, typically within one week, as assignedConsiderable travel within Virginia and surrounding states, up to 40 weeks per yearSkills:Exceptional oral and written communications skills with individuals of all levelsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage large groupsAbility to effectively manage multiple projectsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and work collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Proficiency using multiple software packages including Microsoft Office SuiteExperience:At least 2 years' experience in marketing, hospitality, event management, or related field preferredAwareness of sociological and political aspects of the American Revolution and founding of our nationValid Virginia driver's license and clean driving record required, CDL a plusExperience driving a ¾ ton truck or greater with trailer is a plusBeing authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
