Job descriptionInterested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.Equipment ManagerRacine Country Club is seeking an Equipment Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of all turf maintenance equipment. The Equipment Manager will be responsible for all equipment maintenance and repair, parts and inventory and ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition to support the groundskeeping team in providing a high-quality playing surface. The ideal candidate will be an analytical problem solver, a self-starter and have an extensive knowledge of small engine repair. ResponsibilitiesMaintain, diagnose, and repair all equipment in the fleet, including parts fabrication.Develop, follow, and perform a preventative maintenance program.Maintain a stocked and orderly parts inventory, including having positive working relationships with suppliers and vendors.Establish and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance schedules based on equipment requirements and course maintenance schedule.Establish and maintain a complete set of accurate records for equipment, liquids, parts, equipment conditions, repairs and costs of repairs, and preventative maintenance.Establish and maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop.Perform daily course checks to ensure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.Prepare, recommend, and manage the equipment budget, monitoring cost and expenditures, and identifying variances and recommending and implementing corrective action as necessary.Assist in the evaluation, selection, and purchasing of new turf and/or landscape equipment.Perform and ensure all health, safety and environmental regulations are known, understood and practiced, including proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.Daily equipment set-up related to swapping implements on machines.Assist with snow removal on the RCC CampusOccasionally perform basic golf course maintenance.Qualifications4+ years of experience as a Mechanic or Equipment Manager, with in-depth knowledge of small engine mechanics and golf course turf equipment.Understand turf equipment, including cutting unit set-up, hydraulics, electrical theory, diagnostics, combustion engines, and welding. Toro experience highly desired.Ability to read and follow manuals, understand preventative maintenance requirements and schedules and repair equipment.Have a basic understanding of the game of golf and the effect turf equipment has on playability preferred.Ability to utilize computer software systems such as purchase order systems, excel, word, preventative maintenance software.Proven ability to manage budgets, inventory, and equipment maintenance schedules effectively.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.High level of attention to details and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Valid driver's license required.
