LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, as well as dozens of workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 25,000 students. More than one-third of our degree-seeking students were born outside of the United States, coming to LaGuardia from 136 countries and speaking forty-three heritage languages. More than half are first-generation college students. Sixty-nine percent live in Queens; the rest live in Brooklyn and beyond. Approximately two-thirds of our degree students receive financial aid. Reporting to the Manager for Faculty Staff Relations, the HR Coordinator for Adjunct Staff provides information and services, including the hiring and onboarding processes for all adjunct faculty. The HR Coordinator will also perform the following duties:Processing of adjunct contractual increments and review eligibility; update and maintain existing files, process employment verifications, tuition fee waivers and reappointments, both manually and by CUNYfirst mass reappointments;Review adjunct appointments for completeness and accuracy, and forward appointments to Payroll;Assists with all aspects of faculty and adjunct timekeeping Serve as a resource for college departments related to personnel actions, policies and procedures;Respond to inquiries a timely manner;Keep adjuncts abreast of updates and changes to the process;Work with College departments, Budget and Payroll to resolve errors and inconsistencies as necessary;Assists with other HR Functions for College Faculty and Staff as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAttention to detail is required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
