A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking for a Payroll Analyst (UKGPro preferred) to be based in Princeton, NJ. This position is HYBRID (3 days a week onsite). The contract's duration is 6 months with possible extension. *W2 and local only.Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.MUST HAVE:- Large company payroll experience- Large Payroll software experience (Ultipro/UKG, ADP, etc - not looking for quickbooks)- Self Starter- Analytical thinker- Strong overall payroll knowledge (gross to net, taxation)- Excel skills (ie vlookups, sumif, pivot tables, etc.)- W-2 preparation / validation- Multi-state/local tax jurisdiction experience- General ledger backgroundSKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:3+ years payroll experienceBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferredUKG/Ultipro experience is a plus but not requiredSolid understanding of payroll and payroll tax lawsCommunicate clearly and effectivelyStrong knowledge of MS Office, including ExcelStrong analytical skillsAbility to solution issues as they ariseDetail orientated, organized and focused on accuracy and meeting deadlinesMust be a team player to blend individual tasks / processes to achieve group objectivesExperience with multi-state and Canadian payroll compliance is a plusExperience with state and local tax registration and reconciliation is a plusRESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Develop full understanding of the inputs and outputs of payroll cycles, as well as post payroll activitiesMaintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, analyzing and entering data utilizing the UKGPro payroll system in accordance with policy and proceduresWage VerificationsReporting and remittance of payroll deductionsMaintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures and have knowledge of what data and calculations are required in assigned areasResolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing informationEnsure complete, accurate and timely processing of informationCollaborate with payroll colleagues as well as other business areas, including Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, Finance and Technology.Year End W-2 processingBalance sheet account reconciliation supportProvide analysis and reporting as required and assigned by managementProvide customer service by responding to employee questions and requests. Monitor the Payroll Inquiries mailbox (external queries) and Sofi (ServiceNow) queue (internal requests)
