Japanese R&D Associate

A food manufacturer is seeking a Bilingual Japanese/English R&D Associate to join their team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This position is responsible for product development, improvement, cost analysis, and research. An associate degree in (food science or biochemistry), 3 years of experience in the food industry or basic knowledge of food product development, 3 years of prototype development experience in the food industry, and the ability to speak, read, and write Japanese are required. This is a full-time, non-exempt, in-person position with excellent benefits and 401k. [Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:30]Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.Bilingual Japanese/English R&D Associate Duties:-Understand the characteristics, functions, and prices of raw materials, as well as the company's products and manufacturing methods, while addressing customer requirements.-Develop new or improved prototypes based on customer needs and create labels in compliance with regulations.-Understand raw material costs and manufacturing processes, constantly considering cost-effective industrial recipes.-Develop or improve efficient work procedures through implementation/testing of production lines.-Keep track of trends in raw materials and packaging materials, sharing this information with relevant departments.-Research alternatives for raw materials and supplies that may become difficult to source.-Investigate and propose manufacturing methods and equipment to improve production efficiency.-Understand changes and trends in the foodservice industry and consumer market to develop new products with future trends in mind.-Create and present market research reports, new product development plans, and presentations for sales and customers.-Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors when necessary (including handling raw materials weighing approximately 50 pounds).
