Assistant Nurse Manager - Evenings

Seeking Assistant Nurse Managers for evenings to work in Surgical or Pulmonary Care. Qualified candidates will BA in Nursing, 3-5 years of Healthcare Management, NYS Registered Nurse License and 3 years of experience working in Pulmonary or Surgical Care. The Assistant Nurse Manager responsibilities are to maintain shift accountability for the coordination and facilitation of the delivery of quality patient care on their unit. Encourages staff to achieve high performance standards through education and role modeling. Manages Human and Material Resources effectively and efficiently. Directs staff in Performance Improvement activities that improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and enhances organizational efficiency.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Responsibilities:Work directly with the patient care team in identifying and solving patient problems/complaintsRelay patient information to doctors and communicate with other health team members about a patient's careProvide information about care and treatment to patients and familiesPromote an atmosphere which facilitates collaboration and empowerment of staffAssess and evaluate staff competencyAssist with ensuring adequate labor coverageRequirements:NYS Registered Nurse License requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's preferredMinimum 3 - 5 years of experience in health care managementExperience in a team-based, collective bargaining environment desirableBasic knowledge of regulatory agency requirementsAbility to establish staffing patterns and staffing schedules requiredMinimum 3 years experience working in a Pulmonary or Surgical Unit
