As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will:Proactively network and build relationships with key decision-makers at potential clients. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads, leveraging existing contacts and identifying new prospects.Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other relevant events. Actively promote the company's services and expertise.Identify, pursue, and convert business opportunities. Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead qualification to contract negotiation and closing.Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to develop targeted marketing materials, messaging, and campaigns. Contribute to content creation and distribution across various channels.Collaborate closely with Project Management to design customized solutions that meet client needs. Prepare competitive bids, proposals, and presentations.Deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, showcasing the company's value proposition. Manage the RFP/bidding process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.Support the sales process by assisting with negotiations, contract reviews, and due diligence. Ensure smooth handover of closed deals to project implementation teams.Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and generate repeat business.Work closely with the company's global counterparts to develop and deliver integrated, comprehensive solutions for clients with international operations.Monitor market trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activities. Use this information to inform sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.Actively participate in relevant industry associations, committees, and events. Represent the company's interests and contribute to industry best practices.This is a full time, direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:Bachelor's degree preferred.Demonstrated experience in logistics and business management principles.Track record of success in sales or business development within the Houston/Gulf Coast region's logistical services sector.Experience working with the chemical/bulk commodities industry and rail logistics is a significant advantage.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, coupled with a naturally sociable personality and strong relationship-building capabilities.Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and efficiently manage workload, demonstrating a logical and analytical approach.Highly dependable and punctual, with excellent time management skills.Ability to quickly learn and understand the nuances of specific targeted industries.Strong research and analytical skills to identify market gaps and business opportunities.Fluency in English, including excellent writing skills.Proficiency in IT tools, particularly the MS Office Suite.Flexibility to travel Salary: $120,000 - $150,000/year. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Benefits: Since this is a Direct Hire role, benefits will be provided by the employer.
