The Senior Financial Systems Analyst researches, analyzes, designs, tests, and implements new financial computer systems, modifications to existing financial computer systems, and modifications to acquired systems. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst estimates costs, recommends and justifies solutions, identifies resource requirements, creates programming specifications to communicate the user needs to the development staff in the form of a development project, monitors and tracks the progress of these development projects, and communicates regular project status reports to project stakeholders. Essential Functions Initiates, plans, execute, monitors, coordinates, and controls all phases and resources needed to complete project development and implementation. Prepares accurate estimate of time, personnel and equipment resources needed to complete system development.Analyzes customer needs, identifies alternative solutions, estimates the cost and risk of each alternative, and recommends the best solution to satisfy the customer's needs. This could involve the design of new systems, modifications to existing systems or modifications to current business processes (leveraging 'delivered' system functionality).Creates programming specifications that describe the project scope, functional requirements, and technical requirements including: file layouts, page layouts and functionality, menu navigation, report layouts, data mapping, report / interface / conversion requirements, web service requirements, security requirements, unit testing requirements and many other technical details.Researches and trouble shoots production support issues in both FMS and HCM. This includes problem identification and documentation, research alternative solutions with third party vendors and peer institutions, analyze upgrades and maintenance packs from vendors.Conducts unit testing for all development projects and vendor upgrades / maintenance packs and assists the functional users with User Acceptance Testing, system integration testing and pre-production testing to ensure that a high quality solution gets implemented. Monitors and documents issues found during testing and ensures that all issues are resolved.Maintains a current knowledge of financial processing and systems analysis techniques, technologies and trends and provides sound technical advice.Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications The following Degree is required:Bachelor's Degree.
