Position SummaryEnsure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.This position is responsible for developing and delivering integrated digital outreach strategies for the Plastics Division's major issues and programs. This includes working with Plastics Division staff, members and contractors to understand goals, messaging, and key audiences as well as independently developing content, digital and social media strategies to meet those goals. The position also provides guidance on social/digital media approaches to support the Division's advocacy priorities, outreach priorities (e.g., earned and paid media), teams, work groups and other campaigns. The position works closely with Plastics Division staff; coordinates with ACC's Communications Department, relevant vendors, and third-party voices; and reports directly to the Senior Director, Public Affairs and Communications.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and oversees the execution of integrated strategies across the Plastics Division's digital footprint to ensure websites and social media channels contain compelling, engaging and regularly updated content.Develops approaches to promote content across social and digital platforms to increase the Division's reach, ability to rapidly respond to issues and events, and awareness of its point of view.Provides guidance on differentially creating and promoting content across specific platforms to reach/engage/activate specific audiences, such as policymakers, thought leaders, voter segments, and decision makers in the plastics value chain and other industry sectors.Uses experience and knowledge in audience targeting and advises on paid media partnerships and media buys in support of specific goals.Analyzes performance data and provides reports and recommendations to advance core objectives across the Plastics Division's digital footprint.Oversees the development and dissemination of written, graphic and multimedia assets to increase online engagement and message resonance.Develops and maintains strong working relationships with ACC and the Plastics Division's staff, member company representatives and consultants/vendors.Coordinates social and digital content distribution across ACC, the Plastics division's, members, and allied associations.Provides training, advice and support for the Plastics Division's staff to independently engage each in digital advocacy.Identifies, evaluates, and recommends partnerships and opportunities to increase online engagement with target audiences.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications/RequirementsRequiredBachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., communications, public relations, marketing, public policy, government, etc.).Eight years related experience with political, policy/advocacy, business or trade organization.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Experience in strategically using all relevant online platforms to support advocacy campaigns.Experience in buying online media to reach specific audiences.Demonstrated ability to promote industry positions and engage target audiences.Ability to develop and articulate vision for digital strategies and content marketing.Ability to use independent judgment in evaluating situations/issues.Ability to prioritize and direct multiple projects, vendors, tasks and information/requests.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Wordpress, Adobe InDesign/Adobe design platforms, internet search applications, media monitoring software, and press/media/newswire services.PreferredPrior political or advertising campaign experience.Communications/news media/public relations agency experience.Hill staff experienceTrade association experienceACC BenefitsACC offers medical, dental, vision as well as a 401(k) matching contribution up to 6% of eligible compensation and an automatic 6% contribution of eligible compensation to the Profit-Sharing Plan, both vested immediately at 100%.
