Volt is immediately hiring Machinist in (Van Nuys, CA)Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.As a Machinist you will be:   Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines.Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances.May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies. May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design. Overall SummaryDeveloping support individual contributor.Works under general supervision.Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Nature of SupervisionWorks under general supervision.Less detailed instructions are provided and moderate peer review is required. Communication & InfluenceCommunicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. Innovation & ComplexityWork is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution. Organization ImpactWorks to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities. Education & ExperienceRequires developing job knowledge/skills.Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.  This is a 6 Month full time Contract opportunity.
