The role requires rigorous application of design, drafting, and manufacturing techniques. The Senior Design Engineer will also be required to implement engineering changes and process improvements.Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development of 3D models of complex aerospace hardwarePrepare design concepts, sketches, layouts, and technical drawingsAppropriately select component materialsInterface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturabilityMaintain and update BOMsGenerate and check technical reviews and other engineering documentationLead cross-functional activities to maintain existing designsManage complete implementation of engineering design change requestsLead process improvement activitiesSupport proposals and new product initiativesSupport disposition of technical issues which occur during manufacturingSupport customer reviews and inbound requestsRequired Skills and Abilities: Extensive experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar roleExpertise in parametric CAD designExpertise in drawing ANSI standards and GD&T proceduresKnowledge of material properties and selection processKnowledge of manufacturing and machining techniquesKnowledge of relevant MIL-STD'sFamiliarity with heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanicsHighly motivated self-starterStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsCapable of thriving in a fast-paced environmentEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience in a similar roleDue to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder.Physical Requirements: Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environmentAbility to move equipment up to 25 poundsWe offer: · Competitive Compensation & Holiday Pay· Great Health Benefits, and 401(k) plans· Paid Time Off (PTO) per year, amount depending on level.
