Core Duties:Coordinate all privacy operations activities and ensure quality control complianceProvide expert privacy guidance on complex mattersConduct privacy assessments for projects, systems, and departmentsWork closely with and respond to requests from Data Protection ChampionsEncourage privacy best practices through awareness and training programsCoordinate the creation of guidance documents on various privacy topicsCoordinate incident response and investigationsMaintain and update the University's privacy policiesMonitor developments and trends in privacy and formulate strategy accordinglyRepresent the University Privacy Office in different activities and meetingsEngage in other activities assigned by the Chief Privacy OfficeRequirements:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree and seven years of privacy work experienceExperience with privacy management tools, e.g. OneTrustProfessional privacy certification (e.g. CIPP, PECB/CDPO, CPD etc)Legal experience is preferredExperience in higher education, health care organizations, or research institutions is preferredExperience creating and conducting AI assessmentsSound knowledge of information technology is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated practical privacy operations experienceOutstanding written and oral communicationsBroad knowledge of privacy regulations pertinent to company (FERPA, HIPAA, CA 1798.82, and CMIA), and subject matter expertise in one or moreExpert knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, LGPD, PIPL and PIPA)Practical experience in responding to data security incidentsExperience working with vendors and other third partiesExperience drafting and negotiating privacy contractsExperience leading successful data protection risk management programsProven track record of pragmatism, sound judgement, and balanced risk managementBroad understanding of modern information technology systems and cybersecurityDemonstrated familiarity with modern collaboration tools such as video conferencing, instant messaging, document management, wikis, calendaring, ticketing, etc.
