We're proud of our more than 80-year commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client members and creating an atmosphere where our employees thrive.What you'll do:Respond to and resolve customer service requests according to FBL Financial Group, Inc., policies in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner for external customers, departmental staff, and other FBL personnel at all times.Select and re-underwrite risks for commercial lines of business in conformance with existing company practices and procedures.Communicate with Underwriting staff, agents and policyholders as necessary to properly carry out the functions of underwriting.Communicate with re-insurer to obtain adequate insurance capacity for individual risks.Maintain proper communication, harmony and understanding with other departments and agency force.Assist in conducting agent training programs.Mentor and train staff at the Associate Underwriter level, as needed.What it takes to join our team:College degree or equivalentMust keep up-to-date regarding state and federal compliance rules and regulations.Must have good analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to negotiate and cope with stressful situations.Computer/keyboard skills as appropriate to this position.Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.Ability to read, write and speak the English language.What we offer:Health / Vision/ Dental insurance401K with matchLife and Disability insurancePTO / paid holidays / volunteer time offOn-site Wellness facility with fitness classesFarm Bureau... where the grass is really greener.Work Authorization/Sponsorship: Currently, we are not considering candidates that need any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future, such as additional or permanent work authorization.
