A Long Island-based nonprofit organization is looking to boost their staff at one of their group homes in Suffolk County with the addition of a new, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.About the Opportunity:Assignment Length: OngoingShift: 5am - 9 amSchedule: Mon-ThursSetting: Group HomePatient Population: Medically underservedResponsibilities:The LPN will:Administer MedicationsAssess medication records monthly to ensure consumers are receiving prescribed medication and that documentation of it is occurring in a timely mannerAssist consumers in achieving self-medication administration as indicatedProvides24-hour emergency on-call coverage for assigned programs, as requiredAssist and participate in the admission screening process, as necessaryEnsure that consumers are living in a safe and hygienic manner; provide resources for infection controlDevelop and provide in-services for staff, as neededEnsure that appropriate amounts of medication and supplies are availableDispense medications and provide hands-on medical treatment, as neededCoordinate and arrange admission and discharge and staff coverage along with the Residential ManagerReview doctor visits and doctor's orders in a timely mannerComplete and send in weekly reports, as requiredPerform other duties, as assignedQualifications:Graduate of an accredited School of NursingLPN licenseDesired Skills:Bachelor's Degree in NursingExperience working with the Disabled population
