JOB OVERVIEW: This role is a senior business development position within our Communications group responsible for leading and executing the growth strategy, identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients and partners, and driving new work growth. This role involves strategic planning, market analysis, sales leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve the company's long-term business objectives. Knowledge within the communications industry is a must, primarily on the fiber side. Identify and evaluate new markets, potential clients, and partnership opportunities. Identify and create plans to enter new markets and expand the company's presence in existing ones.Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to align business development strategies with overall company goals. Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments to support business development initiatives. Provide feedback to internal teams on market needs, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.New Work Growth - Set and achieve new work targets by driving new business and expanding existing accounts. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly. Report quarterly results for key accounts by maintaining opportunity funnel in Unanet CRM.Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Assist in negotiating and closing major deals and partnerships. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance the company's profile.Financial Oversight & Planning - Develop and manage the strategic account plans for accounts that have been identified as key clients. Monitor and report on key performance metrics to senior leadership, meeting quarterly with account teams. Ensure business development activities are conducted within budget and aligned with financial targets.Team Leadership - Lead and manage the business development team, providing direction, motivation, and support. Foster a high-performance culture focused on results and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and develop team members to ensure the team's effectiveness and growth. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of ten years of related experience; or equivalent.MBA or Advanced Degree preferredProven track record of driving revenue growth and developing successful business strategies.Knowledge of the Communications industry required, primarily fiber.Experience in leading and managing a high-performing team.Travel Requirements: At least 50% travel to meet with clients, partners, internal operations, and attend industry events.Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders.Proficiency in CRM software and other business development tools including MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.Results-oriented with a strong drive for achieving goals and targets.Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong leadership, approachable, and team-building capabilities.
