Job Description: CSG CHARACTER RIGGER 3Client Industry: AAA Gaming Contract Terms: 18 Months Start Date: October 22nd, 2024End Date: April 22nd, 2026Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid - 3 Days a week in office | 2 Days Remote) SUMMARY:In this position, you will be responsible for carrying through the artistic vision of the project and applying your experience directly to rigging game assets that are vital to the team and for the game animation systems.RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with the Rigging Lead to create rigged assets that conform to the technical guidelines of the target platform and engine.Follow direction from the Rigging Lead, as well as seek feedback from peers and art leads when needed.Trouble shoot rigged assets, fix content issues, and test on target platformParticipate in meetings as part of effective communication with the team.Capably and consistently meet project deadlines and milestones set by project leads.Document new rigging tools, techniques and workflows as requiredBe a positive and creative force in the team.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:3+ years as professional rigger or equivalent experienceAA/BFA preferred, or at least can demonstrate through a portfolio an industry standard level of riggingProficient with Maya, with a high capacity to learn new tools and processesHuman/animal anatomical knowledgeClean and efficient smooth skinning practicesPassion for the industry and an understanding of industry trends and technologiesHave a proactive work ethic; capable problem solver who is not afraid of big challengesPrepared to learn in-studio workflow and toolsExperience with Unreal Engine 5 is a benefitPython scripting knowledge is a benefitExperience with MotionBuilder is a benefitKnowledge of Cloth or simulation is a plusTop Software requirements for this role:Maya (required)Essential to the role and required for the candidate to have a good working knowledge of it.Unreal experience (Some experience is valued - equivalent experience in Unity also useful)Python scripting knowledge, preferably in MayaMotionBuilder (beneficial, but will not swing an opinion)PORTFOLIO*Portfolio Containing multiple Characters, and actual footage from Production required for submission.
