General Purpose and Scope of Position:Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an Agriculture Field Scout responsible for pest trap placement and monitoring/recording pest activity of various crops and pests. The Field Scout works closely with the field sales and the operations support team.This is a seasonal position that will start in the SUMMER OF 2025! Key Skills and Abilities Include: College students majoring in Agriculture, Plant Science, or Horticulture preferredKnowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred)Intermediate level proficiency with standard software, including MS Office SuiteAbility to safely operate a vehicle within state laws and company policies and guidelinesRequires excellent interpersonal skills between both customers and fellow employeesAbility to repetitively bend, kneel, and walk long distances while working in a non-climate controlled environment and outside in inclement weatherExcellent math skills and the ability to maintain accurate countsDependability/reliability. Occasionally may need to work Saturdays.Good interpersonal skillsWillingness and desire to work overtime hours during the busy seasonKey Personal Attributes Include: Proven leadership ability, including the ability to build relationships with cross-functional team members, including Product SpecialistsExcellent written, verbal and presentation communication skillsStrong time management skills with the ability to set prioritiesSkill in creative and critical thinking to achieve goals Ability to remain detail-oriented with a wide range of responsibilities Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: Prepare traps for placement in the fieldInstall traps in fields. Inspect and monitor weekly.Maintain data counts of the number of pests trappedUse GPS technology to map fieldsComply with company safety standardsTake soil samples as needed or directed by salesScout crops for economic pests and report to the appropriate Sales Representative Compensation and Benefits: In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $13.51 to $16.88 per hour.Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.Follow this link for more information regarding Wilbur-Ellis employee benefits,note that salary ranges provided for this role on external job boards are salary estimates made by outside parties and may not be accurate.
