Playfly Sports is looking for an Assistant General Counsel to join our team in Berwyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, or DallasApplying for this role is straight forward Scroll down and click on Apply to be considered for this position.The person in this role will work with the Chief Legal Officer and other senior executives to develop and implement corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives and compliance functions, advise on company strategies and their implementation, assist in managing the legal function, monitor and update the company's legal and regulatory compliance needs and oversee the work of outside counsel. The Assistant General Counsel is directly involved in complex business transactions, negotiating critical contracts, litigation, real estate, employment and intellectual property matters and providing legal support for mergers and acquisitions, including transition and integration efforts, and financing transactions.What You'll AccomplishDraft, analyze, review, and negotiate agreements with professional sports teams, conferences and leagues, regional sports networks, university athletic programs, state high school athletic organizations, venues and events (e.g., bowl games), as well as agreements with sponsors, on-air talent, and othersManage, coach & develop members of the legal teamProvide legal advice and support in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investmentsAnticipate legal and contract/deal issues, and design and execute strategies to remediate risk to Playfly and its clientsSupport human resources, finance and other groups within the CompanyIdentify, research and analyze relevant federal, state and local requirements and translate into business solutions and processesAssist Chief Legal Officer with dispute resolution and litigation oversight including drafting legal pleadings, managing discovery, and negotiating settlements.Assist with oversight of risk management, including oversight of our insurance programEnsure compliance with the Company's policies and proceduresOther job-related duties as assignedWhat You'll Bring8+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or corporate legal departmentOutstanding written and oral business communication skillsExcellent drafting and negotiating skillsExperience with consumer data privacy/security issues, technology transactions (including software as a service (SaaS) agreements), intellectual property and employment law a plusFamiliar with a wide variety of general corporate and transactional workCreative problem-solving skills to assist in meeting business needs and seizing new opportunities, while mitigating risk and managing key relationshipsStrong commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and complianceAbility to work collaboratively with others, and cooperatively with senior and executive-level staffAbility to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task multiple prioritiesJD degree, admitted to practice law in the state in which located (must have evidence of good standing)Travel, Lifting, Physical RequirementsThis role is based in an office setting and is a sedentary roleSome travel may be required from time to timeWhat We DoPlayfly Sports is the full-service, leading sports marketing and media company that enables brands to engage with sports fans on a local, regional, and national level through scaled linear, digital, and experiential assets.
