We're building "Stripe for Credit" -- Our API is the fastest and simplest way for startups to launch & manage loan, line of credit and other credit programs.We recently raised an oversubscribed round and have been adding 6-figure ARRs every single month.As the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust compliance framework tailored specifically to our organization's credit operations. Your deep understanding of credit and lending regulations, risk management, and ethical practices will be instrumental in shaping and executing our compliance strategy. By championing a culture of compliance, you will enable our fast-growing fintech startup to navigate the regulatory landscape seamlessly and build strong relationships with regulators.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert guidance on credit and lending compliance matters, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Develop and implement comprehensive credit and lending compliance policies, procedures, and controls.Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks associated with our credit and lending operations.Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track compliance, conduct internal audits, and prepare timely reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk management, and product development, to integrate compliance measures into our credit and lending processes.Foster relationships with regulatory authorities, actively engaging in industry discussions, and staying updated on regulatory changes that impact our business.Continuously monitor and evaluate the evolving credit and lending regulatory landscape to adapt compliance strategies accordingly.Qualifications and Experience:Masters or JD in Law, Finance, Business, or a related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience in a compliance role within the credit and lending sector, preferably in a fintech environment.In-depth knowledge of credit and lending regulations, including but not limited to consumer lending, business lending, fair lending practices, credit reporting, and privacy laws.Proven track record in developing and implementing credit and lending compliance programs and policies.Strong understanding of risk assessment and management methodologies specific to credit and lending operations.Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with regulatory authorities.Experience in engaging with regulatory bodies and maintaining positive relationships with relevant stakeholders.Adaptable mindset with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends and best practices in credit and lending compliance.Our Cultures and Values:Customer Obsession: Obsessed with our customers' and their end-users' pain points.High velocity: Thrive in high-velocity environments where you learn fast and execute with a very high bar.Empathy factor: Empathizing with those around you, whether it'd be customers, partners, teammates or others.Entrepreneurial mindset: Crave ownership and high accountability.Transparency: No BS, no politics.
