Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Welding position at the Plymouth, IN Facility. In this role, you will...Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means GMAW arc welding in the fabrication of communication towers, components and overhead sign structuresPerform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determine operation sequenceUtilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipmentAdjust welding equipment to its prescribed settingsMaintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment in a safe and secure mannerRead and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms and blueprintsWhat it takesHigh school diploma or GED equivalentMust have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record1 year of previous, hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environmentMulti-pass, stack layering welding experienceAbility to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferredMinimum 1 year experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environmentAbility to read weld symbols and understand blueprintsMust be able to use and accurately read a tape measureAble to lift up to 50 poundsCommunicate and interact with coworkers in a positive mannerMust be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsHighly qualified candidates will also possess:American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized schoolAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.BenefitsValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
