Coordinator, Institutional Event MarketingTitle: Coordinator, Institutional Event MarketingEmployment Status: NON-EXEMPTSupervisor Title: Director, Communications & MarketingDate Revised: October 2024Summary of Position:The Coordinator creates and executes a marketing strategy for Meridian's institutional flagship events across digital and social channels to reach targeted audiences and grow sustained engagement through compelling, creative tactics while positioning Meridian's brand, mission and work as esteemed, credible and trusted. This role is primarily responsible for designing and implementing creative, data-driven event marketing strategies for each distribution channel, email marketing, producing daily digital and social media content, maintaining editorial calendars, and coordinating digital and social content needs across the organization for Meridian's signature programming.This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice.Position Responsibilities:Develop, drive and execute digital and traditional content strategy to reach targeted flagship program event audiences and grow sustained engagement.Design and direct marketing strategies for selected Meridian institutional events using all digital and social distribution channels, including but not limited to X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and email.Design and execute strategic email marketing content such as newsletters, invitations and appeals in Pardot, leveraging in-platform engagement and audiences metrics segmentation to deliver insights into how to further engage Meridian's network and strategically tailor content.Work with Director, Communications & Marketing to develop KPIs and strategic objectives for digital audience and revenue growth.Grow and sustain partner branding activation strategies and creative partnerships that leverage stakeholder expertise and networks for collaborative content marketing, enhanced audience and donor engagement, and creative brand positioning.Create, edit and publish daily content across social media platforms while maintaining editorial calendars using Planable and other in-platform schedulers.Manage and produce website content while coordinating with colleagues organization-wide to solicit content relevant to Meridian's signature events.Work with Communications and content teams to produce engaging multimedia and written content such as videos, GIFs, presentations and research materials, infographics and more for digital platforms.Attend and cover live and virtual programs and events through all appropriate social media channels including occasionally taking photos and videos to ensure visual content is captured for websites, social media, digital marketing and archives.Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines.Other duties as assigned.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related fields.2-4 years of related experience.Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Full-time digital content marketing experience for premier events with an emphasis on social media in a non-profit, government, political campaign or small-to-medium sized company.In-depth knowledge of digital and social media platforms and their respective functions, algorithms and user types to design successful social media campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, among other media platforms.Proven ability to curate, create and compose compelling written, visual and multimedia content for social media and digital platforms published in a timely way with viral potential.Multimedia and digital production, including videos, GIFs, memes, stories and slides.Graphic design experience in Adobe InDesign, Canva or other programs for digital and social media campaigns.Knowledge and experience working with Salesforce and Pardot to manage online email communications.Analytical, strategic and creative marketing, with the ability to translate data into action plans that elevate audience engagement and advance fundraising and revenue growth goals.Management of editorial calendars and strategic content distribution across digital and social media platforms.Technical Requirements:Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role.Basic HTML and WordPress, as well as SEO (SEM, CRO and PPC is a plus).Google Analytics and Google Ads.Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Light Room, Stock).Copywriting, proofreading and editing (AP style knowledge a plus).Employer's Statement:Meridian is committed to empowering global leaders and amplifying voices of a wide variety of backgrounds to create pathways for greater understanding, shared value and respect for all cultures as connecting people has been our foundation for over 60 years.
