In this role you will help plan and execute special projects while supporting ongoing cross-functional operations. Whether a bug fix or an awesome feature, you will own your work and deliver the most effective and scalable solutions. You will work closely with our Product Team and other cross-functional development teams to design and implement world-class solutions.The ideal candidate for this role is technically savvy, analytical, and process-oriented. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the hospitality industry and have an immediate and meaningful impact.What you'll doBuild and maintain our APIs and integrations with upstream and downstream consumers in mindCollaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in backend development tools and technologiesLead ecosystem-level design reviews, perform architecture reviews, and write technical documentation in collaboration with peersDrive improvements to system reliability, observability, monitoring, and testabilityWork directly with an Engineering Manager and Product Manager(s) to clearly understand the problem being solvedCollaborate with stakeholders from internal operations teams as well as external integration partnersEffectively debug high complexity multi-system problems and come up with good-better-best solutionsExecute on engineering and release priorities successfully through strong leadership and communicationDrive code reviews and collaborate with other team members on coding standards and best practices, third-party integrations, and other backend development processesGuide and mentor less experienced developers on best practices and operational excellenceWhat makes you a great fit6+ years of backend development experience in frameworks like Node.js, and integrations with 3rd Party tools, APIs, and other servicesExperience with designing and documenting architecture decisionsExperience with AWS services such as Lambdas, Eventbridge, DynamoDBExperience with IaC e.g. Terraform and have collaborated with DevOps to maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelinesSolid software engineering fundamentals and committed to mentoring less experienced engineersExcellent giver and receiver of constructive code review feedbackExperience with Agile development processYou have a knack for finding solutions to problems - and using a full arsenal of debugging toolsYou have built your own custom tools to help you automate tasksExperience with Git version control and repository management in GitlabLocationEvolve has a flexible working environment so teammates can work remotely anywhere in the state of Colorado, in our beautiful downtown Denver office, remotely or a hybrid of both! As we grow, we are working towards opening remote opportunities across the entire U.S. We currently are able to hire across the U.S except in the following locations: District of Columbia, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania.CompensationFor this role our salary range is $120,000 to $185,000, depending on relevant experience.
