As a Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in collecting accurate utility data, inspecting infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability of power distribution systems. Initial Travel Expectations: The work area is initially focused in a one to two hour radius of the Altoona, PA and State College, PA areas. This position may also require overnight travel during the week, depending on the location of the work assignment. This position requires the use of your own vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided). As a Field Technician, your daily life may include:Conduct field surveys and inspections of power distribution systemsCollect data on utility poles, transformers, and other infrastructure using industry-standard techniquesUtilize GIS software and other tools to map and analyze field dataCollaborate with internal Project Management, Engineering and Design staff to ensure project successAdhere to safety protocols and industry standardsInteracting with customers to perform walkout kickoff/scope meetings and/or to assist in the preparation of bid documentationPerforming research to identify pole ownership, right of way, property rights, and permit requirements for proposedCommunicating with outside parties to obtain right-of-way approvals and easementsProvides guidance to others for specific duties in software, processes, and proceduresProvides quality control reviewOther duties as assignedUpon offer acceptance, newly hired Associates are required to come to our headquarters in Perrysburg, OH for an initial 1-week in-person paid orientation and training period.
