Specifically, Assessment Clinicians are responsible for completing comprehensive psychological assessments to aide in the treatment of individuals convicted of sexual offenses. The assessments are used to develop individualized treatment plans aimed at decreasing risk of re-offense upon release. Assessment Clinicians assist the sex offense-specific treatment (SOT) teams by conducting thorough psychological assessments, with an emphasis on sexual offense-specific risk assessment. Once the assessment is completed, Assessment Clinicians prepare written reports that interpret findings, conceptualize the evaluee, and provide specific recommendations that guide treatment. Each report addresses the specific Risk-Need-Responsivity factors that serve as the foundation of the treatment model, in accordance with best practices and empirically-supported treatment of individuals who engaged in sexual offense conduct, with the ultimate goal of "No More Victims." Assessment Clinicians assist in the ultimate goal of ending sexual violence, which is accomplished through addressing the dynamic (i.e., changeable) risk factors that led an individual to engage in such conduct, and at the same time, improving their quality of life, developing a sense of purpose, and establishing healthy behaviors in order to navigate life without harming others. Assessment Clinicians focus their time on identifying the salient risk factors that will be a focus of treatment for each participant. Our program views sexual offense conduct as a symptom of broader issues, and with that in mind, we provide a holistic, strength-based treatment program consistent with the best practices set forth by the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA). Assessment Clinicians also provide a variety of direct-care services, such as facilitation of therapeutic groups, on an as-needed basis. An ideal candidate holds a master's degree in a human service-related field (e.g., social work, psychology, mental health counseling). Candidates must be license-eligible (e.g., LICSW, LMHC), but they need not have independent licensure at the time of hire. Ideal candidates are conscientious, intellectually curious, excellent team players, maintain strong boundaries, adept at clinical case conceptualization, and possess excellent clinical writing skills. Candidates should have experience with psychological assessment and report writing. Candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment with challenging clinical cases are especially well-suited for this position. Individual clinical supervision is provided on a weekly basis at no cost to clinical staff, and weekly group and small-team supervision is also provided; candidates should be open to the clinical supervision process, as well as receptive and willing to implement feedback. Prior experience working in the field of sexual abuse treatment and prevention is not required, but it is preferrable; however, all necessary training is provided following official hire.
