We've been changing the game since 2013, and we're not taking our foot off the gas now.About the team and positionOur Human Resources Operations teams work hard to deliver a great experience for Carvana's team members so they are at their best in ensuring an awesome experience for our customers. The Associate Director of Human Resources Operations has the unique opportunity to drive our customer experience through leading the strategy and execution of company-wide human resources operations and initiatives, with emphasis on employee relations and investigations.We're looking for a highly motivated team player with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills and a proven track record of continuous improvement and leading teams to meet business initiatives. You'll need to quickly develop a strong understanding of our operations and processes to effectively manage the HR Operations teams.This position will be in-person and based out of our Headquarters in Tempe, AZ.What you'll be doingStrategic leadership and day-to-day functional oversight of the HR Operations team, with focus on employee relations and investigations.Lead and guide efforts to create and/or continuously improve efficient, standardized, and scalable departmental processes and procedures.Partner with People Operations and Legal teams and department leaders on change management initiatives, especially as it relates to process enhancements and policy/procedure communications to ensure effective adoption and understanding across the organization (i.e. annual employee handbook updates, labor relations and harassment training).Provide consultation, recommendations, hands-on support and policy-based guidance to department leadership.Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to effectively understand and interpret company policies as well as state and federal employment laws, and to provide guidance and support to leaders and team members related to these.Regularly communicate with department leaders on HR programs and practices in support of overall company objectives.Establish positive and effective working relationships with internal business partners to drive and guide successful and policy/values-aligned cross-functional business efforts.Provide strategic oversight of policies and processes to ensure both legal and business obligations are met.Other duties as assigned.What you should have10+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience.5+ years of experience in leading people and teams.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Strong understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws and government agencies and experience in driving/supporting compliance to these.Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices and processes (specifically those noted in the position description) and the ability to stay up to date on emerging trends.Proven track record of effective strategic thinking, thought leadership, analytical decision making, large-scale prioritization, and continuous improvement - specifically within the human resources space.Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, defining problems, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and delivering workable solutions.Strong sense of urgency and ability to make complex decisions and handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.History of effectively coaching across all levels and functions, including individuals in more senior roles than oneself.We'd love it if you also haveMaster's degree from an accredited graduate school or university.Experience working at public and/or rapid growth organization(s).What we'll offer in returnMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits.401K with company match.A multitude of perks including student loan payments, discounts on vehicles, benefits for your pets, and much more.A seat in one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.Other requirementsMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.Of course, we'll make any reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their jobs.Legal stuffHiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
