We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join Macquarie AirFinance, a global aircraft leasing company! As a member of the Accounting team, you will be a critical part of a collaborative team focusing on further automation within our financial systems and the ability to establish and/or improve financial processes. You will be an integral part of the monthly close and ongoing projects focused on process improvements to gain efficiencies and strengthen the overall control environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player with a working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThe Staff Accountant works within the accounting team reporting to the Assistant Controller.Essential Job FunctionsPerform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts including loan and other receivables, intercompany, deferred revenue, security deposits, and operating lease revenue.Understand relevant financial information from lease agreements/lease summaries.Assist in invoice coding and submit to Accounts Payable.Perform trend analysis on income statement and balance sheet accounts and ensure all significant fluctuations are properly explained and supported.Support the external reporting team on audit support documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure timeliness of year-end audit deliverables.Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, and Technical Accounting.Assist with process improvements and automate manual processes to achieve efficiency and scalability.Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures.Ad hoc accounting requests as needed.Qualifications And RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA/Public accounting experience is preferred and IFRS experience is a plus.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDetailed understanding and ability to work with multiple entities (90+).2-3 years of combined public accounting and industry experience.Strong understanding of intercompany relationships; accounting, consolidations, and eliminations.Experience with lease accounting, both operating and finance leases.Detail-oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes.Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing accuracy.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication (both verbal and written) skills.Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) is required.Experience in NetSuite and Adaptive Insights is a plus.BenefitsMedical /Dental/Vision Benefits401k with MatchGenerous Vacation BenefitsEmployer paid disability and life insuranceTuition AssistancePerksHybrid work optionKitchen is stocked with snacks and drinksCompensationThe salary range provided is intended for candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the role.
