Our company has more than 200 individuals today, spread between 3 offices, and we look forward to continuing to grow the team.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting at Finally to join our team as our inaugural hire on the internal accounting staff. The ideal candidate will be at the Controller or Director level, and have experience at a fintech start up, financial services company, or financial institution, or possess a strong background with working and scaling teams as the first finance or accounting hire at a previous start up. In this role, you will be responsible for putting in place and optimizing our internal accounting workflows, internal and external financial reporting, leading month end closes, making sure our general ledger and chart of accounts are accurate, working with cross functional partners to enforce our corporate expense policy, and leading the company through our first audit.This will be an exceptionally high visibility and entrepreneurial position. You will also have the opportunity to be a critical thought partner and design partner for our product and engineering teams as they build the next generation financial automation platform for small and medium sized businesses. What you'll do:Lead our first auditOptimize our month end close processDesign and build more efficient processes around AP, AR, payroll, ledger entries, etc.Form the foundation for a high performing finance and accounting organizationHire a team of high octane accounting managers, AP and Payroll specialists, bookkeepers, etc. to work under you.Be a power user and critical thinker around the Finally expense management, banking, bookkeeping, and accounting products to help our product get better over time What you need:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field6+ years of experience in operational accounting at a financial services related firm, fintech company, or start upProficiency with Netsuite and a modern expense management software (Ramp, Divvy, Brex, Airbase, etc)Strong understanding of financial products, financial services, and the payment industryExceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively cross functionallyDemonstrated experience in hiring and leading a team of finance and accounting professionals Nice to haves:Experience with cross border and international accountingExperience with lending businesses and money transmissionExperience with compliance and state level compliance reportingUnderstanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the fintech industryBe opinionated about equity accounting, compensation schemas, best in class tech vendors, automation and audit readinessCPA designation BenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceEmployee stock purchase planPaid time offPaid trainingVision insurance#J-18808-Ljbffr
