Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below. ***This position is for the Western Region, covering west of the Mississippi River, preferred locations are Texas, and California, will accept candidates anywhere in this market*** JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Sr. Manager, National Service, this position is an important leadership role and part of the Lifecycle Services department. The role should be located within the assigned territory the incumbent will be managing. The position is responsible for growing profitable revenue, directing service operations management and customer experience for assigned region. The following are a few of the key areas of focus:Lead the operational execution of service in all territories of assigned region.Lead the development and maintenance of a world class customer experience.Lead the service sales development of region in collaboration with sales.It is expected that the incumbent will be a strong team player and will work collaboratively with all employees. This position has the following direct reports:Trainer (where applicable)Sr. Automation Service Technician (this is only applicable in markets where the Service Supervisor has a Material Handling background)This role has responsibility for ensuring efficient and timely execution of service work in alignment with customer expectations for assigned region.This position will work closely with other Regional Managers to share resources where needed ensuring optimal work force utilization while maintaining customer expectations.This position will work closely with the Capital Installations Division to keep a pulse on projects occurring in territory and service sales opportunities resulting from equipment installations.This position will work closely with the sales department ensuring clear communication on customer projects, equipment opportunities and the general pulse of the customer.Most importantly this position will lead people. This position requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to understand people, provide compassionate yet tough leadership to a wide variety of people. Understanding all field personnel and the variety of needs they have, being flexible to ensure we take care of our people yet also never compromise our customers. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Travel extensively to meet with customers, technicians and to other company site locations as required (expected approximately 50%).Lead assigned regional service execution.Continuously coach and mentor direct reports. Provide continuous feedback to training team to support enhancement of training programs.Manage team development and training ensuring constant development of technical abilities and compliance with customer safety training.Provide training, repair, and inspection/PM quotes for customers in assigned territory.Serve as Project Manager on major projects as required.Maintain greater than 88% utilization of team.Lead regional safety meetings and oversee frequent recurring toolbox talks for each supervised area, maintaining a culture of safety.Oversee profitable delivery of revenue, meeting or exceeding forecast expectations.Deliver regional revenue expected based on jointly assembled forecast, communicating any issues that arise exhibiting barriers to meet plan early and often.Develop assigned regional service business soliciting new opportunities and customers and leveraging all business development resources.Maintain awareness of down customers in assigned territory ensuring all possible action is being taken to return customer to full service.Serve as customer liaison for customer meeting requests, issue resolution, site visits, sales and more.Work in collaboration with other Regional Managers and Service Supervisors to share resources where needed in alignment with customer needs and workload.Lead the evolution of region through tech matrix advancement program and building of skills in territory to meet service requirements for all product categories serviced EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two-year college degree in Automation Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, business or equivalent experience.Bachelor's degree in business, engineering management or technical management preferred but will consider work/military experience in lieu of a four-year degree.A minimum of five years' experience in a field service environment is required.Experience selling services and negotiating maintenance contracts in a material handling or automation environment.Five years of work experience in a material handling maintenance environment, preferably with a combination of Fanuc Robots, conveyors and other material handling equipment.Experience leading leaders. SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB: Strong leader of people, understanding how to lead leveraging emotional intelligence, building trust and followership.Computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.Strong knowledge of field service principles and practices, customer requirements and technician requirements.Knowledge and understanding of preventive maintenance programs, OSHA regulations, customer protocols and repair processes and procedures across company product lines.Analytical, critical thinking, negotiating, managerial, organizational, decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.Working knowledge of industry field service and installation processes and requirements.Ability to read plans, specifications, and schematics. Demonstrates organizational and project management skills, including ability to set and manage multiple priorities, and to set and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with diverse internal and external groups. SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB, cont. Detail oriented demonstrating an ability to capture all the key information daily to develop and maintain strong training programs.Knowledge in Basic Equipment and Machinery. This position regularly uses a computer, printer, copier, telephone, scanner, and a calculator.Knowledge in various Computer Software like Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, company ERP systems, and AutoCAD. The salary range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Adaptec Solutions considers factors including, but not limited to experience and geographic location.
