Hilton San Jose is looking for a Senior Sales and Event Manager to join their team!As a Senior Sales and Event Manager, you will be responsible for the successful solicitation, event planning, and overall execution of all Local Catering & Social Events that take place within the hotel, including securing groups with 20 rooms or less. The Senior Sales and Event Manager will interact frequently with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships from which to earn repeat and expanded business.Find out more about the daily tasks, overall responsibilities, and required experience for this opportunity by scrolling down now.What will I be doing?Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:Maximize all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through selling of function items.Negotiate services and prices to maximize revenue and profitability.Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are in place, including building relationships with new/existing customers to secure rollover business.Manage the department's day-to-day operations and activities, ensuring the implementation of the selling strategy yields meetings and events space.Build strong relationships with customers, guests, and team members to gain a full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively.Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events related reservations and blocks of 20 rooms or less on peak.Conduct conferences and external sales presentations to groups and prospective customers to solicit, explain, negotiate, and secure group and local catering business.Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts.Conduct property tours and participate in trade shows, industry, and community events to promote facilities and services.Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel.Support the Food & Beverage operations and room reservations team with information as required.Ensure all information is relayed to the Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to enable effective ordering and rostering.Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market.What are we looking for?Minimum Years of Experience: two (2) years of hospitality-related experience at the manager level.Experience in supervision or management of 1-3 people.Other requirements: Travel percentage: 10%It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)Relevant degree in business development or other relevant business field from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)Hilton ValuesSince being founded in 1919, Hilton has been a leader in the hospitality industry.
