Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks for one or more rocket engine programs, ensuring a clear understanding of their potential impact on system-level performance and program development objectives.Collaborate with integrated project teams (IPTs) to foster a deep understanding of how interconnected risks may influence one another and impact the system and program success.Coach teams in characterizing program risks and developing mitigation plans, monitoring their effectiveness and adjusting strategies as necessary to maintain project timelines and mission success.Facilitate risk-informed decision-making processes by presenting clear and concise risk analyses to stakeholders, promoting transparency and understanding of accepted risks.Serve as a focal of program knowledge and strategy, integrating development efforts to ensure that individual component team setbacks do not undermine overall project success.Lead risk review boards at integrated product team and program levelsEncourage a culture of continuous improvement and risk-awareness across the organization, mentoring team members on best practices in risk management.Collaborate with risk managers and key stakeholders to improve processes, tools, and trainingImprove metrics and reporting systems to provide valuable insights into risk postureMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant technical field7+ years of experience in aerospace engineering or complex electromechanical and thermal/fluids systems developmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop effective mitigation planExperience risk management, demonstrating the ability to assess uncertainty, drive strategic risk decisions and achieve favorable outcomesExperience managing risk within a structured risk management systemExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions, mentor team members, and engage with stakeholders at various levelsThe ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, while contributing to a team-oriented and collaborative cultureAbility to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a US citizen or national, US permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the US as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:Liquid Rocket Engine development experience and understanding of rocket engine cyclesExperience with program or project managementFamiliarity with formal risk management best practices, such as NASA Risk-Informed Decision Making (RIDM) or similar.Familiarity with system safety or reliability analyses, such as Functional Hazard Analysis, Failure, Mode, and Effects AnalysisExperience leading Root Cause Analysis and developing Corrective ActionsExperience with database queries, such as SQLExperience with Confluence & JIRAExperience with TableauCompensation Range for:CA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00;WA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00Other site ranges may differApplications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
