Proposal Consultant IT (MSP)To be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is full in line with the job specs as found below.Proposal Consultant for managed IT service provider seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to help drive growth.Grant & Proposal Writer plays a critical role in the organization's sales process by creating and developing high-quality proposals to secure sales opportunities. This individual is responsible for researching and writing compelling proposals in collaboration with internal teams. The Grant & Proposal Writer will ensure proposals meet the necessary guidelines and submission deadlines while working with confidential and proprietary information. This position focuses on content creation, writing, editing, and ensuring the technical compliance of proposals.This role requires a strong understanding of consultative sales principles, as the writer will be responsible for positioning the organization's solutions and expertise in a way that addresses client needs and adds value.Grant & Proposal Writer ResponsibilitiesThe Proposal Manager will be responsible for:end-to-end management of the proposal development process, including pre-RFP/final RFP requirements analysis and response development, production, and deliverydeveloping proposal support documents including schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, templates, and color team artifactsfacilitating proposal solution development sessions and development of proposal strategy artifacts including win themes and discriminatorsscheduling and leading proposal related meetings including kickoff meetings, status calls, color team debriefsensuring compliance with proposal response requirementswriting to management, past performance, resumes, and other non-technical response requirements as neededcollaborating and/or coordinating with operational resources, corporate functional resources, Government personnel, and external teammatesmanaging proposal team assignments, including contractor personnelmentoring and training proposal department team resourcescommunicating department performance to department team members and executive managementsupporting additional proposal/business development activitiesGrant & Proposal Development:Identify and research sales opportunities from government agencies, ensuring alignment with organizational sales strategies.Develop and write persuasive, accurate, and compelling grant proposals and RFP responses that reflect the organization's solutions, mission, and objectives.Collaborate with business development teams to understand client needs and integrate consultative sales strategies into proposals, positioning the organization as a trusted advisor and partner.Ensure that all proposals meet specific response guidelines, requirements, and deadlines, while also aligning with broader sales goals.Maintain a detailed proposal calendar, tracking submission deadlines, progress updates, and reporting requirements.Content Creation & Document Management:Organize, proofread, and format grant and proposal documents using tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft 365, and Excel, ensuring clarity and adherence to branding standards.Ensure proposals are aligned with sales narratives, emphasizing the organization's unique value propositions and solutions.Maintain accurate and organized records of all proposal submissions, ensuring confidentiality and the security of sensitive information.Collaboration & Communication:Work in collaboration with the business development teams to align proposals with client needs, ensuring that consultative sales approaches are reflected in proposal content.Lead and participate in meetings with program managers, finance, and technical teams to gather information needed for proposals.Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFPs, crafting proposals that meet both technical and sales criteria and address client pain points.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that all proposals are submitted on time and meet the required quality standards.Stay current with trends and best practices in business development and incorporate these into proposal development processes.Qualifications:Proven experience in grant writing and proposal development, with a demonstrated ability to create persuasive and solution-focused content.Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Excel.Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to meet deadlines.Familiarity with document management systems and electronic signature tools.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to the demands of a fast-paced, sales-driven environment.Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of proprietary information.Education/Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.5-7 years of experience in written sales and grant writing or proposal development, with experience in a consultative sales environment preferred.Experience in responding to RFPs, RFQs, and ITCs, ideally in the nonprofit or government sectors.Key Measurable Performance Indicators (KPIs):Number of successful grant proposals and RFP submissions completed on time.Success rate of grant proposals and contract wins.Timeliness of proposal submissions relative to deadlines.Internal stakeholder satisfaction on the quality and alignment of proposals with sales objectives.Contribution to the overall sales process through high-quality, value-driven
