Over the last five years alone, the firm has advised on more than:1,000 M&A transactions totaling $2 trillion in value;100 high-profile and complex IPOs; and100 publicly disclosed activist defense mandates with an aggregate market capitalization of almost $2 trillion and dozens more that remain private.We are seeking to a Director, Investor Relations in New York to help build our strategic IR business and provide advice to Brunswick's leading corporate clients.Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Client ContributionProviding insight, guidance and advice on strategic investor relations and financial situations to clients across industriesAdvising clients to effectively communicate to investors at critical moments, as well as earnings, conferences, investor days, and financial transactionsDeveloping and executing plans to advocate the client's point of view to the investors, media, employees, regulators and other critical stakeholdersPlaying an integral and entrepreneurial role in building Brunswick's strategic investor relations business including thought leadership and new business developmentTeam ManagementServing as client's day-to-day contact alongside PartnersActively and effectively managing teams and driving day-to-day activities for multiple accounts at a timeManaging and mentoring team membersManaging the development of key client deliverables by playing a vital role in overseeing, planning, editing and draftingOverseeing research assignments on fast-moving situations with tight deadlines; distilling a large amount of information into the most impactful and helpful pointsNetworkingActively cultivating relationships with clients and potential clientsDeveloping relationships with the analyst and investor communityFostering a network of journalist contacts and relationshipsMaintaining relationships with financial and legal advisorsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:10+ years of relevant work experience in an IR, research, or financial advisory role with strong knowledge of the capital markets and a range of financial situations involving U.S. public companiesIn-house investor relations, sell-side research, buy-side or investment banking experience is highly valuedEnergetic team player with strong self-motivationAbility to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all timesDeep understanding of business, finance and marketsCapability to understand multiple stakeholder positions (investors, analysts, and media) - and incorporate that understanding into strategy and messaging for the clientDeep understanding of financial statements, ability to recognize market expectations, and translate the investor perspective into effective communicationsAbility to rapidly learn new sectors and companies, and operate with imperfect informationAbility to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environmentAbility to multitask, prioritize and think strategically and creativelyExceptional written and verbal communication ability, including on complex issuesExperience managing teams and passionate about mentoring junior staffAbout BrunswickBrunswick is a strategic advisory firm focused on critical issues and critical stakeholders. This range applies only to the New York City position, and salaries in other offices and regions will vary based on an applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as the competitive landscape.Bonus Eligibility: Annual discretionary bonus contingent upon individual performance and the overall performance of the Firm.Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
