Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Bausch-Health Economics and Outcomes Research About the Opportunity: Northeastern University's Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Program is a two-year fellowship designed to advance the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates in various areas of industry pharmacy including regulatory affairs, medical information/affairs, patient safety, outcomes research, and many other areas. The program is a collaboration between Northeastern University and biopharmaceutical industry partners. In partnership with Northeastern University, Bausch Health Companies Inc. is offering a two-year Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) PharmD fellowship. Responsibilities: As US Healthcare faces significant financial and other challenges, pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies are working to holistically assess and communicate the value of their products to patients, physicians and payers. The goal of the two-year Health Economic & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Fellowship is to develop professionals who will understand the healthcare ecosystem and how to analyze the intrinsic/potential value of pharmaceutical products for all stakeholders. They will learn how the value of pharmaceutical products is identified, quantified, adapted, evolved, and communicated across the life cycle of the product. BHC HEOR Fellow will: Work on various assets across the therapeutic divisions of BHC Learn through hands-on experience to understand how HEOR is not a one-size-fits-all discipline but changes to address the value challenges for each individual therapeutic area Be a part of the cross-functional team (Clinical, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory and Commercial) which works to assess the value of the asset throughout its lifecycle Collaborate and eventually lead HEOR studies which span across the entire value spectrum: Patient Reported Outcomes-as key measures in planned trials and regulatory interactions associated with it Real-World Evidence to identify unmet needs or comparative effectiveness Develop de novo Health Economic Models (Cost Effectiveness and Budget Impact) and population calculators Gain an in-depth understanding of value-based pricing Co-author peer-reviewed publications Understand the strategic fit of the evidence generated and help design strategic communication tools in compliance with current regulatory guidance Have opportunities to gain strategic understanding of the regulatory implications of Real-World Evidence and Patient Focused Drug Development Strongly encouraged to complete coursework in Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics as part of the fellowship program, which will complete their HEOR training by teaching them the advanced quantitative skills Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts. Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
