In this role, you will advance the roadmap for specific priority projects the team develops and evaluate partner solutions. In addition, you will support the infrastructure to maintain Databricks Labs, which enables all field engineering to contribute to tooling efforts. A successful candidate in this role will have strong customer empathy, product focus - the ability to define what a customer needs from a tooling solution, and a data-driven mindset to maximize the impact of our tools. You should feel comfortable working with partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to make sure our tooling continues to evolve. You will report to the Product Specialist Leader - Builder Team as part of the Field Engineering Scale organization.The impact you will have:Build, debug, and extend multiple internal and public infrastructure components of the Databricks Labs ecosystem.Guide other FEs to be self-sufficient with tooling through mentoring, and creating reference materials on how to use tooling.Evaluate various partner tooling solutions and be able to recommend which tools to use for different scenarios.What we look for:Experience working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.Production experience of 7+ years in at least three of the following: Terraform, Scala, Go, Apache Spark, Java, Python. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range.
