Within Global Finance, the Card Product Controllers team is seeking a high-energy and forward-thinking professional to join us as a Senior Director focused on leading Finance Business Intent.Leading Card Product Controllers Business Intent team, you are confident in leading changes to our Finance processes and technologies across our largest product lines by revenue and assets. You enjoy collaborating with key partners across Controllers, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and the Domestic Card Line of Business, among others. You develop strategies prioritizing well-managed results that are resilient through change. You communicate those strategies and results clearly and succinctly while building buy-in with stakeholders across the enterprise. Most importantly, you're a team player and a leader that comes ready to empower, inspire, and include others and make Capital One a great company and a great place to work.Major Responsibilities:Leads a hybrid team of ~30 associates delivering process and technology change supporting our Accounting and Finance organizations.Establishes strong relationships with the Card Business to stay apprised of new projects, understand impacts on Finance and navigate prioritization choices.Understands the value proposition of new projects, develops a strategy to support optimal outcomes for the Business and Finance, and allocates resources to deliver.Partners closely with the Finance Product, Project Management, and Technology organizations to ensure roles and responsibilities are well defined.Communicates complex matters in a simple way to leaders and partners.Understands the needs of our Card Product Controllers team to deliver optimal outcomes.Identifies and drives opportunities to centralize, eliminate, automate, or outsource activities in a scalable, sustainable, and standardized manner.Displays a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style.Characteristics we're looking for:Team player capable of interacting cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization and capable of taking ownership.Adaptive to change, new ideas, and able to prioritize with minimal direction.Passion for improvement and a desire to keep learning with what new technology can offer to rethink the possible, including data transformation, BI tools, and automation scripting (e.g., Python).General understanding of Accounting and Finance Processes.Inspiring leader who can motivate and empower their team.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Technology, or military experience.At least 12 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Technology.At least 5 years of People Leadership experience including leading leaders.Preferred Qualifications:5+ years of experience with either a large, public financial services company or a large public accounting firm.Aptitude for leading large teams; influencing and galvanizing others to follow you toward a solution.A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and accounting challenges.5+ years of experience interacting with standard-setting organizations (FASB, EITF, OCC, SEC, IASB, etc.).Organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology.Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision.#J-18808-Ljbffr
