This role involves designing, delivering, and evaluating development programs to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles and to steward the business success and cultural strength of Fortis.This role helps to facilitate formal programming in performance management, learning and development, professional development, and broader organizational effectiveness activities.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement learning strategies tailored to functional expertise.Partner with business leaders to identify skill gaps, learning needs, and career development opportunities.Design and facilitate learning programs, workshops, and other resources to enhance employees' skills and competencies. (Channels may include instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids, external development programs, and other resources as appropriate.)Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of functional development programs and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.Assist employees with achieving individual development planning goals.Provide guidance and mentorship to employees seeking career development advice.Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in employee development and learning management.Maintain accurate records of employee training and development activities.Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAt least 3 years of Human Resources or Learning and Development experience with progressive role growth, or a similar combination of HR-specific education and HR/Learning and Development experience.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to work independently while being able to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Can meet deadlines with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and professionalism.Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws pertaining to labor and HR practices.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Must possess a valid Driver's License.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSystems experience with Workday, Viewpoint, or a similar HRIS platform.Experience in leadership and professional coaching.Experience with human capital reporting - tracking, producing, and managing data and analytics.Ability to engage and collaborate with all levels of the organization, including the executive level.Fortis is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
