Individuals employed at By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ's teaching.If your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Overview of PositionTeam Leaders are responsible for leading and providing direct care to a team of students, helping them achieve established goals for mind, body and soul. This position is responsible for leading programming, engaging students in a variety of blended learning activities, providing academic support, giving spiritual mentoring, and serving both children and families in a variety of other capacities. This position requires a driven and compassionate leader with a desire to serve youth in under-resourced neighborhoods.Duties/Responsibilities:Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy./Participates in employee growth plans including a regular personal development plan meeting.Responsible for 100% of their students completing eye/dental examinations yearly.Ensures data for their team is recorded, reviewed and submitted on a regular basis.Coordinates with departments to help facilitate cohort participation in fundraising and volunteer efforts.Follows the Student Behavior Policy and classroom management training to help students stay on task.Ensures overall targets for achievement are met with an emphasis on academic and spiritual progress, attendance, and retention for all students on the team.Visits the homes and teachers of each child and completes all required forms in a timely manner.Works to build positive relationships with both parents/guardians and teachers to ensure the best overall care for each child.Plans and leads enrichment, Bible study, SEL, homework, blended learning and other program activities for students during the week.Consistently implements new ideas and strategies to engage students in learning and encourage each child to do his/her best.Assists the Spiritual Development Specialist in chapel by teaching lessons, leading worship and/or other activities.Attends training sessions provided by the organization throughout the year.Ensures each child has his/her homework completed during programming.Provides strong, spiritual mentorship (one-on-one or in small groups).Provides input for improvements in programming, our staff culture and student culture.Works with staff and leadership to implement policies and procedures to further the BTH religious purpose and religious freedom.Performs all other duties as required and assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:A personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ.This position requires a Christ-like servant leader who has a sense of calling and who models Biblical principles.Member of a Bible-believing church or an active participant in a Bible-believing church.Exemplifies By The Hand core values.Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and multi-task effectively.Passion and commitment for urban student transformation.Demonstrated strong relationship building skills with children and adults.Adheres to our Employee Standards of Living.Is adept at sharing the Gospel and does so whenever the opportunity arises with job candidates, students, parents and the community at large.Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED1-2 years of experience teaching in an elementary or middle school in an urban environment (desirable)Comfortable using Google Suite, Google Drive and communication appsSpanish speaking desirable (North Austin site only)Personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God and displays a commitment to regular fellowship with other members in a Bible believing church.Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with others.Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, and filing cabinets.This Job is not a virtual job, but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.Physical Demands:The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is also required to travel to other organization sites to meet with staff.
