Applying for this role is straight forward Scroll down and click on Apply to be considered for this position.Description: Assist with developing and implementing an outreach plan to increase the awareness and accessibility of AccessCare program and the Child Care Consumer Education Website, especially to POC families. Provide families with information, consultation, and referrals in accordance with Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing and quality indicators. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:Assist the Team Leader with developing and implementing a comprehensive, strategic outreach plan especially for POC families populations to increase the awareness and accessibility of AccessCare Child Care Information and Referral service and the Child Care Consumer Education website throughout the State of Delaware.In consultation with the Children & Families First Communications & Engagement Team and Team Leader as well as key staff from the Office of Early Learning at Delaware DOE , review current marketing and consumer educational materials, update and/or create, and determine which materials need to be translated to other languages, as appropriate. Enhance consumer education and outreach efforts by creating a plan for data sharing with DHSS to include identified information on POC-enrolled families as well as a targeted outreach plan to these families in order to offer them personalized childcare search assistance and consumer education. Guide consumers through the process of meeting their childcare needs by providing information and referral searches via telephone, email or in person consultations; and/or assisting consumers with using the online searchable database and/or zip code lists in order to accomplish the search independently.Conduct follow up with consumers via telephone, email, and mail regarding the status of their dependent care search and provide additional resources as needed. Educate consumers by providing in-depth information regarding options, regulations, components of quality services, including information about Delaware Stars, Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing Regulations according to established agency standards and adhering to corporate and/or grant contract requirements.Assist consumers in gathering additional resources for their individual needs by making use of existing child development resources, databases, publications, licensing lists and websites.Assist with maintaining and updating the Child Care Consumer website, MyChildDE, in response to requests from DOE, statewide early childhood-related projects, federal requirements, and the CCDF plan. Assist with planning, coordinating and staff outreach, advocacy and networking activities to community organizations, parents, providers and businesses as they relate to childcare issues.Assist with on-site information and referral searches and consultations for consumers within the community, including places of employment, hospitals, schools and other community locations, as appropriate. Maintain and ensure accuracy and completeness of comprehensive childcare resource provider data and files by following set procedures, and gathering information via phone calls, emails, mailing and fax. Conduct surveys and assemble reports to document critical program outcomes such as satisfaction with services, number of consumers who found care, vs those find care, demographic information, and trends. Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies and procedures.Exercise empathy and reflective listening skills.Keep current on child care issues and legislation. Serve on agency and community committees as appropriate and assigned. State-wide travel, as needed.Position location is flexible; hybrid option available. Part-time, 20 hours/week EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline with 2-3 years related experience. Strong understanding of best practice and developmentally appropriate practices as they relate to early care and education environments.Knowledge of dependent care/work-life issues.Skilled in public speaking and group presentations.Well-developed written, oral communication and telephone communication skills.Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills. Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office software.Ability to follow instructions and procedures.Ability to work independently as well as in a team-setting.Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others, including people of diverse backgrounds and ethnic groups.
