Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations, Law SchoolPosition Title: Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations, Law SchoolQualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.Department: LAWPosition Category: Staff Full TimeJob Description: The Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations ("Director") works with the Vice President and Dean of the Law School ("Dean"), Assistant Dean for Student and Career Services ("Assistant Dean"), the Assistant Director of Career Services ("Assistant Director"), and staff from the Division of University Advancement to lead the law school in meeting its student-employment objectives and alumni outreach objectives.The Director oversees all tasks associated with preparing students for employment, career placement of students and alumni, and managing employer relationships. This includes providing input and data required for management decisions as well as administering relevant law school policies. The Director also serves as the lead point of contact, planning, and programming for alumni engagement opportunities, in concert with University Advancement staff, and fosters a positive relationship between the law school and its alumni.Required Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree; active license to practice law; forward-facing, one-on-one advising experience; general knowledge of legal career pathways, such as summer associate hiring, judicial clerkship programs, and new attorney hiring in public and private sectors.Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of legal practice, 3+ years working in a law school career services setting or other relevant setting; proficient in social media platforms; demonstrated leadership experience with professional affiliations such as bar associations, practice-specific programs, law practice affinity groups; editorial experience, such as document review or journal participation; demonstrated interest in professional development.Physical Demands: Campus: Duncan School of LawJob Duties:Individually counsel students and alumni with regard to all aspects of career opportunities and career development, job-search techniques, career planning, resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.Oversee annual collection of graduate employment information for the purposes of completing the Employment Questionnaire for the American Bar Association and remain apprised of any updates to the Employment Questionnaire Protocols.Inform the Dean, Assistant Dean, and any other relevant staff of ABA deadlines, employment outcomes, and substantive changes to protocols.Maintain all employment and outcomes data in compliance with ABA standards, protocols, and best practices.Assist with the development, marketing, and administration of employer recruiting programs throughout the academic year.Evaluate, develop, and coordinate educational and professionalism programming, workshops, and seminars.Develop, revise, and manage the content of student resources, publications, and policies related to career services, including the website and relevant sections of the law school's student handbook.Annually review, revise, and publish career services department handbook to students.Supply Outcome Assessment Reports and other departmental information to Director of Assessment as requested.Serve ex-officio on law school committees as requested by the committee chair or Dean.Capture and submit marketing content.Oversee all department-supplied content published to the student body.Serve as reposit for all job posts submissions and On Campus Interviews (OCI) requests.Receive and process assistance requests from internal and external sources utilizing the general career services email account.Assist the Assistant Dean by conducting all facets of employer relationship management.Work with Assistant Dean on the department's annual budget.Contribute to the profession and the law school's market footprint by involvement in professional organizations and pro bono efforts.Set performance goals and review progress with Assistant Dean annually or as requested.Manage alumni employment information and the internal alumni database.Strengthen the relationship between the law school/university, alumni, and current students, and foster relationships among members of each group.Work with University Advancement staff and the Dean to support the institution's alumni engagement efforts.Drive outreach efforts to alumni by planning recurring mutually beneficial events.Draft content for law school alumni communications, as requested.Assist Dean in setting goals for alumni relations and evaluating progress towards those goals.*Other duties as assigned.Posting Number: S03826PJob Open Date: 07/15/2024Job Close Date: 11/30/2024Open Until Filled: NoSpecial Instructions Summary: About the Institution: Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
