Job Overview We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Director to lead our dynamic Design Team. Our ideal candidate for this role should have a passion for legwear and fashion, coupled with a keen eye for exceptional design. This role will involve overseeing every aspect of the design process, including conceptual development, trend forecasting, and final product execution. The Design Director will also have to collaborate closely with sales, product development, and packaging teams to ensure cohesive and on-trend designs across all our brands. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role to be considered for this position. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design team to conceptualize and develop innovative and marketable designs for legwear, socks, hosiery, and slippers. Collaborate closely with sales and product development teams to translate market trends, customer insights, and sales data into compelling design concepts and collections. Oversee the entire design process from concept ideation to final product development, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints are met. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design processes, techniques, and technologies to enhance product quality, efficiency, and market competitiveness. Lead packaging design initiatives, ensuring that packaging materials and designs align with brand identity and product positioning. Establish and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing partners to source materials, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely production of designs and packaging. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and inform strategic decision-making. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the design team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages growth and development. Serve as a connecting thread between Design, Sales, and Product Development Teams. Collaborate to build strong relationships with creative peers and cross-functional partners in order to develop and implement strategies, deliver fresh creative solutions, drive sales, and create synergy. Attention to detail and excellent verbal & written skills. Experience and Skills: A bachelor's degree in fashion design, textile design, or a related field that demonstrates your dedication to the industry. Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in a senior design role within the fashion industry, with a focus on legwear, socks, hosiery, or related products. (PREFERRED) Exceptional design skills with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and marketable designs. Attention to detail and excellent verbal & written skills. Proven track record of success in driving design innovation and achieving sales targets. Strong understanding of clothing fabrication techniques, materials, and production processes, particularly within legwear and knitted products. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD/CAM, and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Office. Strategic mindset with a focus on business acumen, market awareness, and customer-centricity.
