The Seattle Police Department is seeking former law enforcement officers with at least ten years of commissioned law enforcement experience to work in the Investigations Bureau as Investigation Support Analysts. These positions will complete in-custody rush file cases for court filings and respond to requests for more information from a prosecutors' office. Cases would be prioritized based on the severity of the crime and the likelihood of the subject being held at first appearance.Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.In addition, these positions will undertake analytical work to assist investigative units and patrol with thorough, precise, and timely information directly related to the furtherance of their criminal investigations to include, tracking and analyzing crime trends, providing statistical information, running criminal histories, requesting 911 recordings, releasing and/or re-releasing evidence housed in to the prosecutor, all as necessary to perform the duties above or under the direction of a detective to assist with the completion of an investigation.Job Responsibilities:Performs specific analysis for an investigation at the direction of a sworn detective utilizing specific department software.Complete in-custody rush file cases for court filings.Respond to requests for more information from a prosecutors' office.Pulling criminal histories, requesting 911 recordings, releasing and/or re-releasing evidence housed in to the prosecutor.Accessing digital imprints related to persons and/or events that may contribute to broader investigations as well as identifying persons attempting to commit crimes using aliases, fraudulent identities, and usernames.Tracking citywide criminal trends and patterns.Monitoring criminal activity, performing analysis, and preparing reports utilizing crime data.Providing threat assessments to the department based on internet and social media trends.Producing hot sheets and reports associated with crime patterns.Preparing weekly crime numbers reports and specialized maps.Providing statistical information.Other duties as assigned by sworn detectives and/or the chain of command.Required Qualifications:Requires a bachelor's degree and four years of experience performing paralegal duties; or a certification from a nationally accredited paralegal training institution and five years related experience (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class). Must have demonstrated ability to lead projects and/or people.Desired Qualifications:Former law enforcement officer with at least 10 years of commissioned law enforcement experience (which is considered an equivalent background to perform the work of this position).Position Requirements:Must pass a Seattle Police Department background investigation.This position is an onsite position; the employee is expected to perform work in person. No remote work option is available for this position.
