Submit your CV and any additional required information after you have read this description by clicking on the application button.Overview & ResponsibilitiesThe job exists to ensure that Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) operates in a safe and environmentally sound manner while protecting the health of its employees, contractors, and neighbors. Position is primarily responsible for the global development and implementation of Safety and Environmental management systems and solutions to ensure facility compliance and the consistent use of "best practices". This position works closely with other management groups worldwide and outside contractors in this process and provides direction and support as well as monitoring for results. The incumbent works toward achieving compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements, while minimizing the company's exposure to safety, worker's compensation and environmental liabilities. In addition, the position coordinates and drives environmental sustainability reporting and improvements globally and contributes to overall Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, including liaison and responding to requests for the parent.Responsibilities:Develops the global EEE safety, environmental, and health strategies to support overall Corporate and parent company objectives and targets.Develops and manages global EHS programs, activities, and management systems with the aim of continual improvement in EHS performance and establishing and maintaining standardization and consistency where feasible and appropriate.Oversees work-related medical management and works with the Risk/Insurance Manager and others to ensure compliance to U.S. and state workers compensation regulations. Manages the Jeannette medical office with the aim of providing appropriate care for work related injuries/illnesses, while controlling corporate liability through active case management.Maintains data/metrics on EHS performance for the company, including Green House Gas (GHG) inventory and EHS incident related data and rates.Manages the EHS incident management and corrective action system and interfaces with Operational leaders to assure appropriate EHS incident management, including causal analysis.Serves as liaison with internal and external legal counsel regarding EHS matters.Provides strategic direction and negotiates with federal, state, and international regulatory authorities related to complex EHS compliance matters.Develops and coordinates the training of employees to increase proficiency and compliance with established EHS programs and regulations.Manages and oversees compliance with EHS related permits, licenses, and regulatory and customer obligations. The incumbent is accountable for tracking and communicating/training regarding major EHS regulatory developments globally and having systems in place to assure compliance. Administers the assessment and audit of global facilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and Elliott's industrial safety and environmental programs.Manages various company industrial hygiene programs including the respiratory protection program, the hearing conservation program, and employee exposure monitoring.Develops and maintains the annual expense budget and forecasts for all areas of responsibility.Responds to various customer inquiries for EHS related performance data.Directs the Global EHS function with accountability for hiring, performance monitoring, salary planning and attainment of goals.Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).Master's degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety or an MBA strongly desired.A minimum of 15 years of experience in EHS; working in a global capacity in manufacturing environment.Experience managing and influencing a global organization with varying cultures, time zones, and languages.CSP, CIH, CHMM or equivalent certification desired.Working knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks globally desired.Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other EHS management system standards.Working knowledge of environmental sustainability, ESG, and CSR concepts and programs desired.Superior leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.Deep understanding of operational processes in defined area of responsibility and their impact on the organization.Deep understanding of industry practice and standards.Equal Employment OpportunityEbara Elliott Energy is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by the federal, state or local laws of the United States.
