Come be a part of something that matters!Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is in search of qualified individuals for the role of full-time Aquatics Programmer at the Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, anticipated to open in 2025. This position will be responsible for oversight and development of our aquatics program by creating a variety of water-based activities, scheduling classes, managing staff, and ensuring safety protocols. An exemplary candidate will have a foundation in recreational management or a related area, as well as experience in programming related to aquatics. Strong leadership, effective communication, and exceptional organizational abilities, along with a dedicated commitment to enhancing water safety and ensuring enjoyable aquatic experiences, are essential.We are currently hiring for the following location(s):Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, Ashburn, VAResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive aquatics program.Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating aquatic Instructors.Maintaining accurate records of program participants, schedules, and staff certifications.Managing the budget for the aquatics program department.Ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of aquatic program equipment and ensuring adequate inventory.Providing excellent customer service, addressing and resolving complaints or concerns from program participants or their guardians.Coordinating with other departments or community organizations for joint aquatic events.The execution of additional critical job responsibilities, tailored to the specific role and departmental assignment, may be necessary.*The work schedule is subject to variation based on operational hours and may encompass weekdays, evenings, and weekends.Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Services or a related field and one (1) year of experience in aquatics programming and pool facility management working with the public and includes prior supervisory experience and six (6) months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certified Pool Operator/Certified PTHA CPO Instructor/Water Safety Instructor/Water Safety Instructor Trainer/Lifeguarding Instructor/Lifeguarding Instructor TrainerCertified Aquatic Facility Operator Trainer/Certified Angelfish Instructor/NRPA Aquatics Management/NRPA Splash Pad/CPRP certification or equivalentMembership and involvement in related professional organization(s).Pre-employment fingerprinting, credit checks, Child Protective Services (CPS), and DMV background checks are required.A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, with driving records subject to annual review to ensure ongoing eligibility.Before employment, hold or obtain the required Pool Operator license, Lifeguard certification, and First Aid/CPR-PR certification.Lifeguard instructor certification within 90 days of hiring.Certification in AED and Supplemental Oxygen within 90 days of hiring.#J-18808-Ljbffr
