This role involves leveraging your expertise in database development and cloud technologies to drive innovation and contribute to strategic decision-making in a collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an environment where they can make a material impact using a variety of technical database skills.Primary Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement database solutions in Oracle and Redshift cloud environments.Collaborate with cross-functional application delivery teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements.Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and efficient data modeling.Ensure data integrity and security through best practices in database design and implementation.Develop and maintain automation scripts for database tasks to enhance efficiency and reliability.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly and effectively along with providing production support.Participate in code reviews, share knowledge with team members, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud computing and database management.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience preferably in the Finance industryProficient in Oracle database development including database design, SQL, PL/SQL, and optimization techniquesHands-on experience with cloud-native databases such as Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, and Amazon DynamoDBFamiliarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and expertise in deploying and managing databases on these platformsAbility to migrate on-premises databases to the cloud, ensuring data integrity and optimal performanceExperience in tuning database performance for both on-premises and cloud environments, optimizing queries and resource utilizationProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) and automation tools for managing database deployments and configurationsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines for automating database deployment processesRelevant certifications in Oracle (e.g., Oracle Certified Associate) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven analytical and organizational skills (ability to handle multiple priorities)About Bessemer TrustBessemer Trust is a leading multifamily office, overseeing more than $200 billion in assets for 3,000 individuals and families of substantial wealth.
