This position will work under the direction of the Community, Conference Services & Social Media Manager to provide a combination of customer service, event design, social media creation, and administrative support to the Portland Center for Oregon State University (OSU).Position DutiesAssistance with social media content creation and online community engagement:Taking event photos and videos of events and units at the centerCreating fliers and advertisementsHighlighting our catering and vendor partners, as well as Downtown Portland communityResponding to commentsLiking and sharing content relevant to the OSU Portland Center and/or Downtown PortlandFollowing groups that have held events and the OSU Portland CenterAssistance with all elements of event management and execution:Making and printing name tags, signage, and other printed materialsProviding event check-inCoordinating with external vendors for various event aspects such as cateringOrganizing and keeping inventory of event materials in storage spacesCustomer service on-site during events, to include taking photographsMinimum Requirements:Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of studyMust meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employmentMust meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard:High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling programUndergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per termUndergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per termGraduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*Ability to take initiativePositive attitude, reliable, punctual, trustworthyGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and to follow up after a task is completedProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteApplicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shiftPreferred (Special) Qualifications:1 year experience with social mediaFamiliarity with social media platformsScheduling postsContent creationPhotography and Videography skillsWorking on a degree in marketing, advertising, or social mediaWorking Conditions / Work ScheduleWorkplace is a typical office environment during normal working hours (8am to 5pm). However, some evening and/or weekend hours are expected on occasion to assist with events. Applicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shift, but ideally will be available for 3-4 hour shifts.
