The responsibilities for the incumbent will include overseeing internal operations, helping to build strong customer relationships, maximizing the company's operating performance, and helping to achieve the company's financial goals. To be successful, the candidate should be innovative with strong leadership/management skills, motivating persona, very comfortable/professional with public speaking, confident, and goal-oriented.Responsibilities:Lead BETA's traffic and safety engineering practice in ConnecticutManage existing client accountsBuild strong client relationshipsExpand and secure new businessManage and oversee project performance to meet or exceed profitability goalsParticipate in the internal corporate management of the company as it relates to operational and strategic planningGuide staff development by identifying skills and needs, delegating tasks appropriately, and motivating project staffContribute ideas for the overall management and well-being of the companyServe as a mentor to all levels of staff and help implement new ways to improve the quality of the company's servicesAssist in employee career progression and retentionUnderstand all aspects of the consulting businessPreferred location: BETA's Hartford office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.Skills Required:25+ years of progressively responsible traffic engineering and management experienceDemonstrated strong leadership skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence othersDemonstrated ability to solve complex problemsExcellent management skillsThorough familiarity with CTDOT, its requirements, and standardsProficiency with traffic analysis and modeling, traffic signal design, CADBachelor's degree in civil engineeringConnecticut Professional Engineer license requiredMust be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 poundsMust be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportationPreferred Experience:Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferredIMSA Traffic Inspection Certification desiredAbout BETA:BETA Group, Inc. is a New England based consultant engineering firm and leader in the fields of transportation, traffic, structural, civil/site, and water/wastewater engineering; landscape architecture; urban design and planning; GIS/asset management; environmental sciences and permitting; and construction services.
